Woman Gang-Raped in Moving Bus in Delhi; Two Arrested

On May 14, Delhi Police reported that a woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a private bus in Delhi's Nangloi area. The incident occurred on Monday night when the victim, a factory worker from Pitampura, was returning home on foot. A sleeper bus stopped near Saraswati Vihar, and after she asked a man at the bus door for the time, she was allegedly pulled inside by force. The accused drove the bus to Nangloi, where the assault took place. A case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint, the bus has been seized, and both accused have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

Police stated that the victim is married and has three children. Following a medical examination, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Rani Bagh police station. Authorities confirmed that the accused transported the victim from Rani Bagh to Nangloi during the crime. The case is actively being investigated from multiple angles to gather further evidence and build a strong prosecution.

In a separate but related incident on May 9, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 57-year-old staff member at a private school in West Delhi’s Janakpuri area. The child was assaulted on April 30, her second day at the school. When she complained of pain upon returning home, her mother filed a complaint with Janakpuri police. The accused school caretaker was arrested on May 1 under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act after the child identified him. He was subsequently sent to judicial custody.
