Israel-Lebanon Tensions Escalate: Six Killed, Displacement Threats

The Israeli military has killed six people and wounded seven in an air raid on a house in southern Lebanon, violating a U.S.-brokered truce. Since the April 16 ceasefire, Israel has targeted over 1,100 sites in Lebanon, with at least 380 deaths, bringing the total since March 2 to over 2,800.

On Tuesday, Israel issued displacement orders for several towns and destroyed a water pumping station and homes. Lebanese leaders have appealed to the U.S. to pressure Israel to halt attacks before a third meeting in Washington this week. The meeting is crucial for the ceasefire's future, but face-to-face talks between Lebanese and Israeli leaders are not expected.
