Saba Haider Breaks Ground as Illinois' First South Asian Woman Legislator
India-born Saba Haider secured a seat in the Illinois House. She is the first South Asian woman ever elected there. She beat Brian Scopa with 70.9 percent of votes counted. Her seat is in District 84 around Naperville and Aurora. She thanked voters and praised her team of volunteers wholeheartedly. She had earlier served on the DuPage County Board also.
