Telangana CEO Expedites Special Intensive Revision Mapping
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, C Sudharsan Reddy, held a video conference on May 11 to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He directed officials to expedite the mapping process, aiming for 90% progress by the end of the month, as the Election Commission of India is set to announce SIR dates soon.
Reddy urged officials to seek help from residential associations and gated communities for mapping. He instructed DEOs, EROs, and supervising officers to build help desks to guide voters during the mapping phase. He also suggested involving self-help groups, ration shop dealers, and employee unions to speed up the process.
Reddy emphasized concentrating on deceased, migrant, and permanently shifted voters, and directed collectors to ensure weekly meetings with political parties to review SIR mapping progress. He issued a strict warning to BLOs against sharing information or OTPs with unauthorized individuals. He clarified that assistance should be sought exclusively from Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for identifying residences or voters, and instructed collectors to utilize print and electronic media for extensive publicity of the SIR process.
