Sri Rama Sene activists hand out saffron shawls at Hubballi institutions after Karnataka reverses hijab restrictions

Members of the Hindutva organization Sri Rama Sene distributed saffron shawls to students in Hubballi colleges on Monday. This action followed the Congress-led Karnataka government's decision to revoke a 2022 BJP ban on hijabs in classrooms. Sri Ram Sene activists stated their move was a direct response to the new guidelines allowing various faith-based symbols, though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had previously clarified saffron shawls would not be permitted.
