Hyderabad Truck Driver Details Terrifying Encounter with Cow Vigilantes

A truck driver in Hyderabad described a terrifying encounter with self-proclaimed cow vigilantes who attacked his vehicle despite knowing it carried plywood, not cattle. The incident occurred late on May 16 in Gudimalkapur when a mob of 20-30 people stopped the container en route from Chennai.

Driver Sheikh Rasool told HN10 News that the group refused to believe the vehicle transported plywood and cardboard materials. He stated they threw stones, damaged the vehicle, and caused injuries to those inside. Rasool questioned who would provide justice for the victims of this unprovoked assault.

The violence escalated when locals gathered and retaliated, leading to stone-pelting between groups. Police intervened and moved the vehicle to a station where it remained until 5 am. At least two officers sustained injuries during the confrontation, with multiple vehicles damaged in the incident.

AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain intervened during the tense situation, sitting with the drivers for nearly half an hour. He criticized police handling, noting attackers struck despite locals informing officers about the vehicle's actual contents. Senior officials deployed additional forces and intensified patrolling following the violence.
