UN Documents Nearly 10,000 Cases of Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones for 2025, Includes Israeli and Russian Forces in Perpetrator List

The UN verified 9,788 conflict-related sexual violence cases in 2025, more than double 2024. Israel and Russia were newly added to the blacklist. Incidents included rape, gang rape, and genital violence across 21 countries. Most victims were women and girls, though men and boys faced abuse in detention. The UN warned of rising impunity and called for stronger accountability.
