Singhbhum Chamber Urges Calm: No Need to Panic About Petrol, Diesel Availability

The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to citizens in Jamshedpur and across Jharkhand to remain calm and exercise restraint regarding the current availability of petrol and diesel. In recent days, concerns and unnecessary fear about fuel availability have led to overcrowding at petrol pumps and a tendency to hoard more fuel than needed.

Chamber President Manav Kedia spoke with Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan to obtain detailed information about the situation. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration is continuously monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to maintain normal fuel supply. A crucial meeting was held today with petroleum company officials in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Officer, and District Transport Officer.

The meeting clearly stated that there is no situation to panic about and all necessary efforts are being made to keep the fuel supply system running smoothly. The Chamber noted that Prime Minister Modi had recently advised citizens to remain cautious regarding gold purchases, foreign travel, and limited use of edible oils given global circumstances. Current international situations, particularly the ongoing war in the Middle East, may naturally cause concern among people, but rumors and unnecessary panic can complicate the situation further.

The Chamber also mentioned that recent fears about domestic LPG gas availability were resolved within a very short time through coordinated efforts of the administration and companies. Similarly, the current situation is under control, and the government and administration are working with full seriousness and promptness. However, the Chamber raised an important question before petroleum companies: if fuel supply is sufficient, why are most petrol pumps in Jamshedpur not displaying stock availability boards.

The Chamber believes that to maintain transparency, clear information about available stock should be displayed at every petrol pump so that public trust remains intact and unnecessary confusion does not arise. The Chamber has urged petroleum companies to regularly monitor their supply chain and fuel availability, ensure adequate supply at all petrol pumps, and periodically release information about the actual situation to the public to prevent rumors.

The Singhbhum Chamber appeals to all citizens of Jamshedpur to use petrol and diesel only as needed, avoid unnecessary fuel storage, ignore rumors, refrain from spreading misleading messages on social media, and maintain trust in the administration and government. The Chamber believes that with citizens' cooperation, restraint, and responsible behavior, any kind of inconvenience can be easily managed.
