CM Revanth Reddy Slams PM Modi's Gold Purchase Advice, Links It to Foreign Policy Failures
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for advising citizens to delay gold purchases to preserve foreign exchange, suggesting it was a cover for the central government's foreign policy failures. Reddy accused Modi of effectively imposing an unofficial ban on gold purchases and urged him to convene an all-party meeting to address the fallout from the West Asia conflict.
During an informal interaction with media, Reddy responded to Modi's "join me" remark at a Hyderabad event, clarifying that there was no political context involved. He interpreted Modi's statement as a response to his request for swift clearances of state development projects and an invitation to collaborate on development efforts. However, Reddy alleged that the central government's cooperation had not met expectations, despite some project proposals receiving clearances.
In response to Modi's description of the Congress party as the "Muslim Leagui Maoist Congress" (MMC), Reddy accused the BJP of functioning like a "British Janata Party" and fostering division among people.
