Karnataka Home Minister Demands RSS Registration and Accountability in Letter to Mohan Bhagwat

Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has sought details on the RSS legal status, noting its large scale and arguing it must follow laws like other groups. In a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, he pointed to many branches and events in Karnataka and asked about registration, funding, and accountability under the Constitution. Bhagwat rejected claims about secrecy. Kharge said the RSS should function openly like all bodies. He said no institution is above legal scrutiny in a democracy and asked authorised office-bearers to explain its position under the law.
