Maharashtra Assembles UCC Panel Under Justice Ranjana Desai; Report Due in Half a Year

The Maharashtra government has formed a seven-member committee, led by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, to draft a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) for the state. The panel aims to submit its report within six months, with the government planning to introduce the proposed legislation during the Winter Session of the Assembly.
