Madhya Pradesh First to Implement Waqf Amendment Act, Including Hindu Members; Congress Leader Objects

The Madhya Pradesh government has reconstituted its State Waqf Board, the first in India to do so under the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. The 10-member board, headed by BJP's Sanwar Patel, includes two Hindu members, Manoj Malpani and Animesh Bhargava, marking a first under the amended law. The move has been criticized by Congress MLA Arif Masood, who argues that it's premature as the law's constitutional validity is still under Supreme Court consideration.
