Patmada/Jamshedpur: Villagers Protest Against Stone Mine Construction

Villagers in Patamda, Jamshedpur, protested against a proposed stone quarry in Kanku village on Friday. Residents, including women and men, blocked roads and demanded authorities halt operations. They expressed concerns that the quarry would increase dust and noise, harm health, and damage the environment. The gram sabha previously opposed the project. Villagers submitted applications to the administration urging approval be denied and all procedures stopped, emphasizing respect for community opinion. Many villagers and representatives signed these petitions.
