778 Bags of PDS Rice Seized from Private Mill in Hyderabad
A surprise inspection at New Bansal Rice Industries in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad, uncovered 778 bags of PDS rice weighing 50 kg each, plus 101 bags of 25 kg each. Another 51 bags were found in a transport lorry. Mill owner Geetesh Bansal was arrested. He claimed he bought the rice from Bharati Industries in Siddipet. Lab tests confirmed fortified rice kernels. Officials are investigating diversion from the PDS supply chain. A case was registered under the Telangana Public Distribution System Control Order.
