Telangana ACB Nabs Panchayat Secretary for Accepting Rs 10,000 Bribe
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two individuals on May 11 for allegedly accepting a bribe in Komuravelli village, Siddipet district. The accused, Panchayat Secretary Gaddam Raju Goud, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000. The bribe was reportedly demanded to remove a drainage pipeline installed by the gram panchayat on the complainant’s land.
The money was routed through Gollapalli Anjaneylu, husband of Sarpanch Gollapalli Padma. Based on a formal complaint, the ACB registered a case and apprehended both individuals. They have since been produced before a special court in Hyderabad.
The ACB has urged citizens to report any bribery demands by government officials. Complaints can be filed via toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), the official ACB Facebook page, or the bureau’s website. This incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat corruption at the local governance level in Telangana.
