UP Government Cancels Over 31,000 Waqf Properties on UMEED Portal Ahead of Eid al-Adha

The Uttar Pradesh government cancelled registration of 31,328 Waqf properties on the UMEED portal ahead of Eid al-Adha. Officials found discrepancies in land records and document mismatches during verification. The state had processed around 92,832 properties by December 2025. The portal was launched to digitize asset management and prevent misuse. Waqf Boards oversee protection and proper use of such donated properties.
