Congress Sit-In in Jaipur Demands Zero FIR for Ritu Barala
Congress leaders including Rajasthan president Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully continued their sit-in at Jaipur Police Commissionerate for a third day, demanding a Zero FIR over the alleged assault on NSUI leader Ritu Barala by Delhi Police during anti-SIR protests. Women MLAs joined the protest, which grew in size. Police blocked entry with barricades and deployed additional personnel. The Congress refused to back down until the FIR was registered. Police stated a complaint was already filed in Delhi. The BJP called the protest political drama. Former CM Ashok Gehlot criticized the state government for not registering the FIR. The protest followed Rahul Gandhi's call for legal action after alleging Delhi Police assaulted two women during a demonstration. Barala claimed constable Chanchal Yadav grabbed her by the neck, slapped her, and injured her face inside a police bus on October 13. NSUI had protested near Rajiv Chowk Metro demanding CEC's resignation over electoral irregularities.
