Unnao Rape Case: SC Overturns Delhi HC Order Suspending Sengar's Life Term

The Supreme Court overturned a Delhi High Court order that had suspended former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar's life sentence in the 2017 Unnao rape case. The court directed the High Court to decide his appeal within two months. The Supreme Court disagreed with the High Court's observation that POCSO Act provisions might not apply to Sengar. Sengar was convicted of raping a minor girl in 2017.
