SC Refuses Plea Against WB's Ration Denial to SIR-Excluded, Directs Calcutta HC

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to urgently hear a petition challenging the West Bengal government's decision to deny food rations to those excluded from electoral rolls after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). A bench directed the petitioner, a farm labour union, to approach the Calcutta High Court instead. The union argued the issue had pan-India impact, but the bench disagreed.
