Nepal Flash Flood: 8 Dead, Over 100 Indians Missing Near Tibet Border

A flash flood struck Nepal's Rasuwa district near the Tibet border on August 26, killing at least eight people and leaving over 100 Indians missing among 384 reported missing individuals. The Bhote Koshi River surged around 9 am, destroying vehicles, bridges, homes, and critical infrastructure in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. Many missing are Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims. Eight hydropower projects were damaged. Authorities are investigating the cause, with glacial lake outburst or landslides suspected. Rescue operations involving helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs are ongoing, while affected districts remain on high alert.
